In reference to the TIC industry, the word casco does not refer to the grey parrot, but the Committee on Conformity Assessment (CASCO) of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) which has been developing and evolving a family of standards that help TIC industry operate with parity.
The heart of the TIC industry needs to solve a peculiar problem which is probably best described using a definition of another complex looking concept: “recursive function”. As per the website of geeksforgeeks; “A recursive function solves a particular problem by calling a copy of itself and solving smaller subproblems of the original problems.”
The main purpose of the TIC industry is to provide assurance. But: the checker needs a checker! So; before we jump of the “block-chain” band-wagon it is critical that the TIC is understood correctly. Keeping in mind that the consensus driven ‘standards’ can never be all-inclusive and will always have gaps and scope for the next iteration. And there is no universal personnel certification program that creates parity of ‘Morals & Ethics’!
This said; the current state is an evolving family of standards which are ISO 17K series of standards. Below is copy created using what was the state in September 2022.

These standards are developed using a consensus driven methodology. Members are people representing member country or territory and could be participating (P) or observer (O) member. Towards the end of 2022 there were 92 participating members and 47 observing members. The changes and evolution of these standards would then have limitations as all point of views and countries of the world are not exactly fully involved.
